3 months!!!

So sorry it's taken me longer to post this 3rd month review than usual... we've had a very busy november! My mom turned 5-0, I turned 30 and Graham 3 months. So, I will post pics from this months events, along with an update on Graham.

I can really tell he is changing. It's bizarre... everyone always casts their vote to who he looks like, but it's different all the time. His little face is totally shaped like Jasons. His mouth is also Jasons. But those are my eyes, and really overall, he looks just like my brother Reid. But the last couple of weeks he just is looking "little boy". And he's getting so LONG! We really have to watch our clothing to make sure everything gets in the rotation before he outgrows it. He has long legs!

stats:

• 16 lbs 10 oz
• 28 inches long
• he is a HAPPY baby. Wakes up cooing and smiling
• we've seen more of his personality too- and let's just say that he is particular about a few things- he totally gets this from me...
• update on the diapers: we arent going through as many! He has now conformed to staying in one for a while instead of changing every time it's wet.
• he loves music! Uncle Dan plays for him when he comes to Jackson.
• He has new affection for his stroller- at first he was funny about it... wouldnt stay in that or his carseat long... but now he enjoys riding in the car and also strolling.
• still sleeping late and taking mostly hour naps... every now and then i can coax him into a two hour one....
• he found his feet! He loves to pull his feet up and look at them. We thought it was because he had on his Turtle Robees one day- but it's pretty much a daily activity. Those sweet feet....
• No rolling yet. We can get to one side, then he falls back on his back and smiles really big.
• And, a great part of 3 months is that I feel like we can be more mobile! We have somewhat of a "routine" during the day... so this little one is no stranger to Target, Chic-Fila or running errands with mom. We've really enjoyed the warmer weather lately.
• he LOVES his daddy. Jason is so good with him. They love to play and play.
• We went to church for the first time this month! He sat between us in his seat and was awake the whole time. The people sitting in our pew kept saying was a good boy he was. And I must admit, I was a NERVOUS WRECK. But he did great!

We are looking so forward to the Holiday Season. As Thanksgiving approaches, I cant help but be constantly reminded of the abundant blessings in our lives! SO much to be thankful for.

Thirty.

my mom makes homemade hot fudge cake for all of our birthdays. it was divine.

Unreal. I am 30. But you know, I have to say... it "ain't " that bad! I dont know what I expected though... to get out of the bed with bags under my eyes and a creak in my back?

29 was the year of truth for me. That was my mantra.... I decided that at 29 I was taking off the veils, breaking down the walls and just being me. It worked too. And, whenever I decided to "really speak my mind" I could justify it by saying.... hello, it's my year of truth.

So Jason and I decided that 30 is the year of change. Graham being the biggest, most fabulous one... and Jason starting his new job. Our new normal. I like it.

Graham's first sleepover

Graham and I had a special treat this week... our first sleepover with FRIENDS! Mandi and Rinks came for a visit... and I know what you are thinking... 2 newborns in one house, but we did great! Mandi starts back to work next week in Nashville so this was our last chance to have a couple of days where we just got to have baby bootcamp, grab lunch, cook dinner together and catch up on all things baby, gossip and beyond. We were so glad you guys came... cant wait to get to Nashville soon!

Ps- these babies are 3 weeks apart....

2 months

Happy 2 months Baby Graham! I thought month one went fast- this one flew by! It was full of many "firsts", first trip to the great-grandparents, first tailgate at MSU, first smile, and even first sickness. :(

• Some stats:
• Graham now weighs 14 lbs and 13 oz
• And he is 26 inches in length
• making him in the 99th percentile in weight and length for his age.
• clothes seem to be an ever present issue. We are constantly growing out of things... is there a big and tall for baby?
• his first smile happened somewhere around week 5, and we're getting lots of them now!
• and he's doing the whole "ah- gooooo" thing.
• he loves to talk right after he eats.
• he is obsessed with his play mat. - he's now gotten to where he can hit the rattles and toys that hang down for them to make noise.
• and mobiles- how i thought we could survive without one I will never know.
• he lost a LOT of hair since we came home from the hospital and I have noticed in the last few days that it is growing back really well! And it's brown!
• This may be the best thing.... so far, he is a late sleeper. You cannot rouse him before 9:30...
• We've had a couple of nights that he's gone 5-6 hours at a time, then wakes up for a feeding, then back down. I'm not saying sleep through the night until it's SOLID.
• sticks his tongue out-
• has found his fingers... check for "self soothing". check for orthodontics.

A month in review:

We cant believe it's already been a month since baby graham was born. He's the joy of our lives- and every day he changes and we see more and more of his little personality.

Some stats:

• Graham weighed 9lbs, 7 oz at birth... he now weighs 11.4
• He was 21.5 inches long... he is now 24
• He's trying SO HARD to hold his head up. His front to back control is really good... but he still bobbles side to side...
• He hates a wet/dirty diaper. I mean, has a come-apart if you do not change him pronto. Just a side note... I changed him 17 times yesterday. (i know because I opened a new pack of diapers)
• He is SO FUNNY when he eats. Flexes and spreads his toes out and kicks- the entire time...
• And he is dramatic. (imagine that...) He makes these noises while he is eating- wish i had audio for you- Jason says it's an oink...
• He loves a good S T R E TCCCCCCCCH.
• He sighs, and gurgles and coos just a little...
• His new thing is spit bubbles. Keeps them in the front of his pursed lips.
• And his rounded lips in the "00000000h" position is my favorite thing... see below for picture. When we make the oooooo sound, he rounds them. He's been doing this since the hospital.
• He pulls his hair. He'll reach up and grab a handful, then squeal.
• Loves a bath.
• We've already stayed in a hotel and been out to dinner! (rinks gaskin was born so we headed to nashville..) He did great!
• We had to go buy 3month old sleepers because he couldnt fit in newborn or 0-3 .
• He's just a sweet, laid back baby...

We are learning the ropes around here. With each week I feel like I understand more of what he needs and wants. Enjoy these pics!!!

Great day for a stroll...

I know I have been a little behind on posts and updates, but its one of those choices in life where I can choose rest or posting... which would you choose?

Hasn't this weather been amazing? Yesterday we headed to NorthPark for our first stroller outing! SO excited to have some fresh air and walk a mile or so ... (who knew CSections took SO LONG to recover? Grant me patience Lord. )

And on Saturday, we took a day trip to Savannah. I was up for a much needed day away so Jason and I headed down to take Graham to see Nina and Grandy.

This was Graham's first afternoon on the deck. I think it was day 2 or 3 of ushome from the hospital. He loves the outside like we do!
