Please Pray for Maggie

Please pray for this sweet baby girl Maggie. Her parents, Nancy and Tim, are friends of ours here in Jackson. Nancy went in to check on Maggie and rock her a little bit before bedtime on Sunday night and when rocking her Maggie had a heart attack. She has Long QT, was diagnosed with this when she was born and had to stay in Vanderbilt for a couple of weeks when they installed a pacemaker. They told Nancy that she would function just like every other child- except she couldnt play contact sports.

All has been exceptional until Sunday night. Tim ran in and did CPR on her until the ambulance arrived. They tried to stabelize her enough to put her in the ambulance to take to the ER. Vanderbilt Ped's staff the Nicu at Jackson Madison General, and decided to airlift to Nashville around 5am Monday morning.  Since then she has been on a vent, moving some and showing some activity but still unconcious. She needs surgery to install a defib. but they can't do that until she wakes up.

PLEASE pray for this family... . Pray specifically for the team of docs, for Nancy and Tim, and for Maggie to wake up. Maggie is such a fighter, and the sweetest little thing you've ever seen. She is 6 months old today.

Don't cry for me Argentina.

I totally had to fight the urge to call this post "Git er Done".  I digress...

Maybe I need to list this progress for me, but it's mainly for the list of friends that I have caused stress because my child's room is not complete and I am 33 weeks. However, I will have you know that I- scratch that- WE have come a long way..... baby.

Being the neurotic creative that I am, it took MONTHS for me to find THE bedding. Either I liked the styles, but the colors werent right.... or too much, too frilly, too modern, too plain. Or, I would have something going and then change my mind and go in a different direction.
Some friends say- oh, that is so creative though, I would have never thought of that! I say- boo, give me 2 choices and then I dont have to DREAM of the possibilities.

Mandi and I were roaming around in a fabric store in Memphis when I saw this...

and we were hooked! Loved the blue/Grey... the limes and olives.... color combo totally was the "feel". This pic doesnt do it justice. If you saw it in person you'd swoon too. Or maybe not.
From there Grahams room was born.

  • we ordered fabric for bedding, skirt, drapes, shade (not all in this fabric- coordinates of course)
  • ordered chair (why didnt anyone have one to pass on to me?)
  • jason bought wood to build the changing table
  • I completely cleaned out my office. (HUGE undertaking. HUGE.)
  • Found an office piece to condense the office into an armoir..

and then started moving some furniture into his room.

Now, we've:
  • painted the room
  • Jason has partially hung the wainscoting.
  • Picked up the wardrobe in Savannah - thanks AMY!
and hung some clothes in his closet.

I feel 100% better and although it is still an empty room , he has clean sheets on his mattress and in the bassinet. If you are imagining... think Cape Cod.. serene, crisp, fresh,
breathe in with me.....
sigh.......

all that to say....

Don't cry for me Argentina!

Prego Vacation

Jason and I went to Seaside for our "last" little getaway before wild man gets here.. We have loved having our non negotiable beach trip since we have been married- and will still enjoy it; we'll just have a new addition when we head back down.

I was THRILLED when we were able to work out a photo shoot with Beth Morgan of Bmofoto(.net)  who happens to have been a college roomie of mine. She came down and spent a day with us on the beaches and towns of 30 A.  We had a lot of fun and here's a sneak peak of her shoot.

And PS- she's going to be coming to Jackson in the fall- so if you would like to speak with her about a session- I can get you the hook up....

Other than that... 31 weeks and holding. Showers are full swing and my house looks like a bomb went off in it. We've cleaned out the office and are now starting on Grahams room. Bedding is ordered, paint is picked out- and we are rocking and rolling.
