Yall. I have the flu. I am on day three and I guess it was inevitable. I mean, I didnt do the precautionary flu shot, and my immune system isnt as stellar as my resident counterparts. Anyway, as I have laid on the couch and in the bed I had had a chance to catch up on some serious magazine and book reading and have watched some great movies thanks to Jason. Sure, I'll share....
First, remember this movie from 2000?
alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172609729661119394" />
Dont you love Minnie Driver? I think she is one of those actresses that you either love her or hate her. I love her. And David Duchovney, where's he been? It's been a while since I have seen this one, and it was just as good as I remember. What I didnt know about the film was that it was directed by Bonnie Hunt. She also plays in the film... it always seems like she is playing the older sister in everything.... and also Jim Belushi is in the film. Pick it up next time your at the 'Buster.
I was so excited with Jason pulled this out of the Target sack.... PEOPLE YEARBOOK 2008. It has everything... EVERYTHING that was a headline in 08, including this amazing story about a man saving a college student from a train. The student had a seizure and fell onto the tracks and this guys jumps on to the tracks and lays on top of him so the train doesnt run over them both. its really an amazing story. It also has the best and worst dressed celebrities (personal fave) . Great sick reading material.
AND, who doesnt L>O>V>E Sweet home Alabama. "You've got a baby, in a bar?" And what about Mc Dreamy? It's weird to see him outside of that role... its like, wait.. where's Meredith? Isnt Reese so cute? i remember when this came out, I was so jealous of her job, her cute haircut and figure.....GREAT movie. and I've always wondered... can you really make glass like that?
(This happened the week before I got the flu but wanted to post) I finished Elizabeth Gilbert's "Eat Pray Love". Has anyone read it? I would be really anxious to hear your thoughts on the book. Read it. Then we'll discuss.
To Gatorade and Tamiflu!

We know she can sing.... and I mean, I knew she was talented, and creative... but I gotta tell you, her painting jobs are really incredible. She's doing an entire HOUSE in Lexington, Tn currently, and will post pics soon. Check out her blog at www.ablondeandabrush.blogspot.com.

move over martha stewart....
What is a Valentines day without lots of SWEETS???? I had my little friend Morgan (can you believe that chef's hat and apron?) over to help me make some Valentine sugar cookies. And, might I add, they were SO GOOD. We cheated and made a mix that I got from pier 1.. (I know, pier 1, right?) and they turned out great. Baby brother Drew came along too, but he only made it halfway through the baking session until he conked out. Thanks Ginger for letting me borrow Mo. She is so fun.

Jackson, TN Tornado
Thanks for all of the calls and emails about the tornado here on Tuesday night. You all know how I feel about storms. Once you pair that with going down into a cellar and shutting & chaining the door- I was a near panic attack. BUT, we are all safe and sound, and Praise God that no students were killed in the UU damage. Y'all, there is no way to explain the devastation on that campus. CNN doesnt do it justice.
Here's all that we encountered at the house.... no major damage...we consider ourselves blessed, and since Mattie has no backyard, she is taking full advantage of being an "inside dog".
Please continue to pray for the students, the international students here are concerned with Visas, etc. and EVERYONE will be looking for housing for the rest of the semester.
